Things to know for the 2022 Season!

Posted on April 7, 2022 by Kitimat Youth Soccer Association in News

A few soccer reminders for the season

Registration Opens

April 11th, 2022 Early Bird Registration opens for all divisions

Picture Day

Picture day – the date for the 2022 season will be determined in the coming weeks.

Weather Conditions

Rain or shine, the kids are expected to show up and play. If extreme rain brings thunder, then kids are still to show up as scheduled. However, if there is any lightning, then all practices/games are canceled, no one is allowed to be on the field.

Attendance

It’s always a great idea to inform your child’s coach if you are unable to make it to a session.

What to bring to the field

Players must wear shin guards and soccer shoes in all games – NO EXCEPTIONS. Do not put referees in the position of not allowing your child to play because they are not outfitted properly. Players should bring a water bottle to practices/games, and younger age groups may like to bring along a healthy snack.

Behaviour at Practice

Parents are required to remain on the opposite side of the field from the teams. No one is allowed behind the goal lines or goal area. Cheer and encourage our players in a positive manner. Teams and coaches are held responsible for the behavior of their fans, and coaches may be penalized for fan behavior.

Behaviour at Games

Parents are encouraged to help at practice time. Please offer your services to your child’s coach. Carpooling to practices and games is encouraged.

After Games

No one likes negative comments after a loss. Please try to focus on the positive aspects of the game and your player’s performance. Let the coach identify the team’s weak spots at a subsequent practice.
